Constitution

“The British government is the best in the world, and I doubt much whether anything short of it will do in America.” – An excerpt from Alexander Hamilton’s speech to the #Constitutional Convention.

#OnThisDay in 1787, Hamilton addressed Philadelphia’s Convention with an impassioned speech lasting close to six hours. A response to the Virginia and New Jersey Plans, Hamilton proposed a strong national government resembling the “English model."
