Do you recall the names of all the Doordarshan news-readers and which one did you appreciate the most?
Meenu Talwar, Lalita Dubey/ Salma Sultan and Sarla Maheshwari -all were familiar faces in Golden era of Doordarshan History. Very sophisticated and respected newsreaders.
M/s Albuquerque,Geetanjali Iyer, Kaveri are missing, I can't forget the scene when Salma Sultana had tears to announce the tragic demise of Mrs.Gandhi. She was the first to announce it on the TV. All are gorgeous Avinash Kaur was my sister's favorite her style of presentation was unique, Meenu for her fluent English and green saree, Sarala madame for her homely looks. Well, that was a golden period, no shouts no fights simple things.
