It was a dreary morning when the wheels

Rolled over a wide plain o'erhung with clouds,

And nothing cheered our way till first we saw

The long-roofed chapel of King's College lift

Turrets and pinnacles in answering files,


Extended high above a dusky grove

ஆங்கில கவிஞர் வேர்ட்ஸ்வெர்த் தான் உலாவிய கேம்ப்ரிட்ஜ் பல்கலைகழகத்தை பற்றி எழுதிய கவிதை இன்று காலை படிக்கும்பொழுது மனதை கவர்ந்தது. கேம்ப்ரிட்ஜ் பல்கலைகழக வளாகத்தில் உள்ள எழிலார்ந்த கிங்க்ஸ் கல்லூரி பற்றியும் காலை நேரத்தில் அங்கிருந்து வானத்தை பார்க்கும்பொழுது இருந்த மேககூட்டத்தையும் , இயற்கையும் இக்கவிதையில் பாடியுள்ளார்.
