"composite floor test"

Refer to the idea of  "composite floor test" in the context of Tamil Nadu. But, apparently, you have not taken into account that the Supreme Court, which had mooted the idea in 1998 and seven years later, is no longer favouring the idea.  In 1998, there was no secret voting. The results were announced by the UP Speaker the same day. In March 2005,     when the Court had suggested the option of "composite floor test" in respect of Jharkhand, the then Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had protested strongly, saying that such an intervention would alter the fine balance of powers among executive, legislature and judiciary.   Later, the Apex Court  had debunked the idea.  Also,  on many occasions, Presiding Officers (Speakers of State legislature and Speakers of Lok Sabha) had categorically stated that it was not the job of judiciary how to run the affairs of the legislature. I think they have a valid point.     Only in the case of Uttarakhand last year, there was secret voting on a vote of confidence motion, on the basis of the Supreme Court's order. The results were formally announced by the Court. .
