A good number of Tamil politicians joined the opening of the JIA. I was told initially it would be some US$ 50 one way ticket to Chennai from Jaffna. The government getting the Airforce land to the Aviation Ministry is a best solicited decision. Ranil W and President Sirisena will be remembered by the people for this one move. India coming to assist them is also a strategically very important and ideal.
