 The #CorinthCanal_Greece

🇬🇷 is an artificial waterway that connects the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf, crossing the Isthmus of Corinth in Greece. Before it was built, ships had to go around the Peloponnese, a journey of more than 320 km. As early as the 6th century BC, Periander created a land transport system, the diolkos, to move ships across the isthmus. The modern canal began to be excavated in 1882 and opened in 1893, measuring 6 km long and with walls reaching 80 meters high. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction
