In today’s political chessboard, merit is the obstacle;
As far as I’m concerned, politics is my breath, the path of righteousness that drives me until the end. For 54 years, I have been walking this political journey.
My political perspective is entirely different, rooted in rationalism and self-respect. My approach is to treat everyone with respect and maintain civility in interactions, no matter who they are! However, bowing at someone’s feet like a slave for a position is not my stance!
Some may mock me for this. They might even think I’ve wasted away by not compromising or going with the flow. That’s fine; it won’t sink my spirit!
In this era of globalization, my perspective embraces Tamil nationalism within the broader vision of a united India. Some may say I’m Telugu not Tamil but. I am a Telugu speaking Tamilan . I neither deny nor hide this! I did my best to this Tamil soil..
But unlike others, I have never acted wrongly or deceitfully.My principles and their ethics are distinct. If others think I don’t fit into today’s politics, how does that affect me? It’s my choice, my decision. That is both my strength and my weakness. Let those who find fault with this keep talking!
My stance has never harmed anyone; in fact, it has brought many benefits to others. I have carried many on my shoulders, and I have never expected anything in return from those who benefited from my help, especially during their critical or difficult times. I don’t need anyone to carry me. But I do wish that they would at least show a gesture of gratitude.
As far as today’s politics is concerned, the virtues of democracy and republicanism are completely absent. People who take money to cast their votes have no time to think about this. In a society where minds are swayed by alcohol, various addictive substances, and fleeting pleasures, I want my politics to remain clear and principled! Such trends will never create a truly solid societal foundation.
Everywhere, money reigns supreme. In an environment where wealth is the ultimate mantra, intertwined with family legacies and blood ties, politics thrives unethically, reducing law and justice to mere afterthoughts.
In such a scenario, social justice has become a mere dream. Should one conform to this environment, or by refusing to do so, become unacceptable to others?
When truth and hard work are sidelined, there is no place for goodness or justice in the nation. What more is there to say? In today’s political chessboard, merit is the obstacle; servitude is the qualification.
Truth endures only as long as falsehood can sustain itself. In essence, both have nearly equal lifespans.
What truly ensures the safety of human society?
It lies in self-awareness and in recognizing and abandoning one’s violent tendencies. As J. Krishnamurti has said, there is a warrior hidden within every individual.
If you chase false, deceptive victories driven by greed, you will fail. But if you never desire such hollow triumphs, no one can make you fail.
Whatever is happening is for the good. Do not fret.
It won’t remain this way forever. Change is inevitable. But do not strive to force that change. Leave it to life itself.
This is what I call faith. Life is wiser than you. It will provide all the opportunities needed for your growth.
