A short history of the shortest war between India and Pakistan in May 2025. It was what we would call, 'A Peaceful War'.
It was a most peaceful war, perhaps because Pakistan is an atomic power. In the initial stages the action seemed more like a terrorist elimination operation. On the night of 9th-10th May 2025, limited action was taken against a few buildings and structures. This was the only action against military infrastructure. But this too was done peacefully and in a most humane manner. Pakistan did not report any loss of life because of India's actions.
The actual engagement lasted just three nights. The days were entirely peaceful.
No troops crossed the borders. A few irregulars did try to enter India along the Jammu and Kashmir border but, they were convinced to not do so. A few of them did come to an end of their lives in the process.
India merely eliminated a few terrorists. A handful of Pakistan civilians and military personnel were collateral damage.
Pakistan responded by sending a few thousand drones into India but ensured that none of them caused any real damage to anyone.
Noteworthy is that Ukraine, Israel and Russia too are atomic powers and have used drones. Their wars have gone on for many years and killed almost a million people by now.
