They simply wanted to take the momentum out of the anti #VoteChori protests which had been going on for months spearheaded by the NSUI and IYC and aim it harmlessly away from the BJP and focus it on Gyanesh Kumar, thus leaving the Modi Govt. undisturbed.

Only the most simplistic person would think alleviating a symptom of a disease while leaving the disease in tact, was meaningful. Or a person who has an ulterior motive or an interest in protecting the disease rather than removing it. We are simply saying that the Chief Election Commissioner who is rigging elections, who is not listening to his fellow Election Commissioners and who is not listening to the Supreme Court should be removed and a new Election Commissioner should be appointed in an independent and unbiased manner,” Dipke said at a late-night press conference in New Delhi.
