#Vanchinarhan
At Maniyachi Junction, the Tirunelveli–Maniyachi Mail was stationed at platform number 2. Collector Ashe and his wife were inside, waiting to board the Indo-Ceylon Boat Mail. A young man entered the coach and shot Ashe at point-blank range. He then took his own life at the same railway station.
He was just 25 years old when he did this for nation. Vanchi’s act was not just one of courage but of deep conviction and commitment to dharma and national pride. He chose martyrdom over submission, inspiring generations to stand up against tyranny. His name remains etched in the history of India’s freedom struggle as a symbol of youthful valor and unwavering patriotism.
