Referendum

Referendum is also people's right .it will be added our Constitution .it is basic for a democracy .#Referendums like this need not always lead to right decisions, especially if it is just simple majority.

Democracy should always be moderated with the wisdom of the wisemen. Otherwise, it will be "flip-flop" actions now and then, and ultimately chaos will set in.

After all people tend to give only reactive responses and those responses can only reflect the momentary decisions based on very recent incidents / issues.

Moreover, with each and everyone's vote having equal weightage, the matured and considered opinion of a 60 years person and immature opinion of a 18 year old person are the same.

Hence, the decisions based on such referendum can at best reflect the "mood" and not the reality.

In fact among all the good virtues of Democracy, the equal weightage for all votes is one major draw back.

To take care of such a draw back only, Upper Houses in the Parliamentary democracy have been introduced.
