Sarojini Naidu

Sarojini Naidu (13 February, 1879- 2 March, 1949).

Known as the ‘Nightingale of India’ because of her poetry being rich in imagery and emotions, covered a variety of themes. Some of her poems are truly rich in descriptions about nature, portrayals of regular day-to-day life.

Sarojini Naidu was an Indian independence activist and a poet. She was once the President of Indian National Congress. Today marks her 140th birth anniversary.
