Pal - Bipin Chandra Pal, from then undivided Bengal
Swadeshi was a mass movement to protest the Partition of Bengal by the British in 1906. Indians were urged to boycott foreign goods and institutions and ‘go Indian’ – it was the original ‘Make in India’ campaign. The idea was self-reliance.
