It is brave-heart good friend Neerja Bhanot's 54th BirthAnniversary today. She was a flight purser, who lost her life trying to save passengers on Pan Am Flight 73, which was hijacked by terrorists on 5 September 1986. Posthumously, she became the youngest recipient of India's highest peacetime award for bravery, the Ashok Chakra Award; Tamgha-e-Insaaniyat (for showing incredible human kindness) from Pakistan and Special Courage Award 2006, United States Department of Justice, United States. Her biopic was released last year: Neerja, which depicted her selfless, heroic act and inspired people worldwide.
