Then Madras now Chennai 1975 Armenian Street,  good old days memories nearby Madras university students Centre ,  Catholic Centre etc,locally known as Aranmanaikaran Street, is one of the historical streets of the commercial centre of George Town in Chennai, India. The road runs north–south and connects Mannady Street in the north with the China Bazaar Road (NSC Bose Road) in the south High Court. The street is dotted with several century-old historical structures. 

Student life with politics …From morning to late night wandering here and  there  by walk and cycle rickshaw…During Emergency days George Mathew Fernandes and Ram Vilas Paswan were here for few days…

Just  now took a Walk to Remember  this long street … today Sunday, not busy and not crowded …

அரண்மனைக்காரன் தெருAranmanaikaran Street, சென்னையில் உள்ள ஜார்ஜ் டவுனில் உள்ள வணிக மையமாகவும் வரலாற்று சிறப்பு கொண்ட தெருக்களில் ஒன்றான ஆர்மீனியன் தெரு என, பின்னர் அரண்மனையரன் தெரு என் அழைக்கப்பட்டது இந்தத் தெரு வடக்குத் தெற்காக வட சென்னையில் உள்ளது. இது வடக்கில் மண்ணடியையும் தெற்கில் சைனா பஜாரையும்  உயர நீதி மன்றத்தை இணைக்கும். இத் தெருவில் நூற்றாண்டு கடந்த  பழமையான பல வரலாற்றுக் கட்டடங்கள் காணப்படுகின்றன.

இந்த பகுதியில் Madras university students Centre (MUSC), Catholic Centre என அன்று தங்கிய சிறப்பான விடுதிகள். காலை முதல் நள்ளிரவு ஏன் இரவு 2மணி வரை நடந்து , சைக்கிள் ரிக்‌ஷா என சுற்றி படிப்பு,அரசியல், கூட்டங்கள் என மகிழ்சியாக இருந்த காலங்கள் அன்று….

அவசர நிலை காலத்தில் இங்கு  ஜார்ஜ் பெர்னாண்டஸ், ராம் விலாஸ் பஸ்வான் 

சில நாட்கள் தங்கிய நாட்கள் நினைவுகள்.

சில நிமிடங்களுக்கு நீண்ட காலத்திற்கு பின் இந்த நெடிய தெருவில் பழைய நினைவுகள்ளோடு ஒரு இரவு நடை….

இன்று ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை,  தெரு அமைதியாக வெறிச்சோடி  இருந்தது.அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையின்  பலருக்கும்  வாழ்வு தரும் அரண்மனைக்காரன் தெரு….

பெரிய தெருக்கள் விடியற்காலையில் உயிர்ப்பித்து, இரவில் அரிதாகவே காற்று வீசுகின்றன, பல உயிர்களையும் செயல்பாடுகளையும் ஒன்றாக வைத்திருக்கின்றன, அவற்றின் தன்மையை எப்போதும் மிகவும் நுட்பமாக மாற்றுகின்றன. பெரும்பாலான நகரங்களில் சலசலப்பு இருக்கும், முக்கிய சந்தைகள் அல்லது பஜார் இருக்கும் இடங்களில் அவற்றின் காட்சி சங்கதிகள் உள்ளன. இந்தத் தெருக்கள் மக்களை ஒன்று சேர்க்கின்றன மற்றும் தொழில்-உணவு மற்றும்  பல விடயங்கள் பகிரப்பட்ட செயல்பாடுகளை ஊக்குவிக்கின்றன.
