Today is Constitution Day - n the day in 1949, the constitution was adopted which came into force on January 26, 1950 marking the beginning of a new era in the history of India. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was Chairman of Constitution Drafting Committee. He is seen here with his team.
we should also remember Dr Rajendra prasad on this occasion who was the president of the constituent assembly where all the recommendations were discussed threadbare and finally adopted and Dr Prasad became the first President of the Republic of India.
Here is the Preamble of Constitution of India:
"WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a
SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;
IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION".
