#Simplicity in politics does not mean merely adhering to principles. No matter where mistakes and evils occur, it is the discerning courage to question them that is most important.!

As Valluvar himself has said, “Not for the sake of falsehood, but to strike at the excess that rises before the eye.” Beyond that, it’s not just about achieving this or that, being simple, being honest, or avoiding corruption; wherever a party misuses its power against law, justice, economy, or fails to take action against social crimes and instead revels in dynasty politics, or embraces its loyalists for self-serving gains to protect them—there, fighting against it, sternly condemning their mistakes or their anti-people tendencies with the most intense or ideologically rooted opposition is what constitutes political ethics! Mobilizing people against it and making it lose power is what can also be the political duty of an honest leader.! Beyond that, turning a blind eye to the abuses of power for the sake of certain circumstantial situations is, I must say, the worst kind of political fatigue. Those who think about people’s welfare policies, liberation, and freedom for the people do not compromise on such mistakes, and most importantly, leaders who have toiled their entire lives must not remain silent no matter what happens in between—for example, not condemning things like deaths in police custody or custodial deaths will create massive consequences, and we must not forget that. Dynasty politics and such things... all of these only create a toxic environment, and the antics played by today’s Tamil Nadu rulers stand as witness to that. This government’s fake drama of pretending that they are flawless and that everyone comes to them only because they have gained the influence of Dalits, leftists, and many others is anti-people. Even simple, honest great leaders turning into guardians who protect the worst kind of corporate regime against democracy is a great sorrow. At one point, in an alliance, overlooking all the mistakes they make in the manner of “the party I needed at different times, the leader I wanted, the person I knew” and staying silent does not look good for honest leaders or simple leaders! When a mistake happens, the one who boldly opposes it without favoring this one or that one, files cases in the people’s court, and fights for it—that person is the true leader. That person alone is worthy of leadership qualities. Otherwise, praising someone who doesn’t take such bold steps just to stay in power, who doesn’t condemn anything, as a saint or a pure leader does not fit when it comes to democracy. That simplicity is only about their personal preferences. A government entangled in serious criminal cases must be opposed from all sides in the people’s court. Today, using the name of a simple leader, this government hides all its actions and crimes by aligning with his death to protect itself. Let those with knowledge think about it. My personal friendship and respect with political leaders that has continued for the past 50 years up to this day is something else. Even in that friendship, when a mistake occurs, I have reacted to it. But against a wrong, self-serving dynastic rule, why such sacrificial leaders have not united so far, time has passed—now, placing it before the people’s court is where the future of Tamil Nadu’s democracy lies. #TruePolitics #KSRPost #ksrpost
