The Royal family

The Royal family could not possibly have known the true wickedness of Hitler.

 The Royal family in 1933 or 1934, playing on a lawn, egged on by the Prince of Wales, later Edward VIII, to give a Nazi salute. Many viewers will feel discomfort; the Palace has signaled its disappointment that the image has been made public. But the past is the past. We have to view historical events in their context – not from hindsight.
