The change from the decision of the Cauvery water tribunal is only for the run-off from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu. While the tribunal had said Karnataka should keep 270 Tmc and release 192 Tmc from its reservoirs and river waters , the Supreme Court has said that Karnataka can keep 284.75 TMC and must release 177. 25 Tmc to Tamil Nadu .
